I have been a general dentist in private dental practice for over ten years. I love to teach and have held a faculty position as Clinical Instructor with the Preventive and Restorative department of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine for over nine years. This has allowed me to develop a high level of competency and confidence in the art and science of dentistry.
I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Prior to that, I graduated from Albright College with honors, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with the distinction of cum laude. Upon completing dental school I pursued a General Practice Residency at Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers in New York.
I am an active member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Valley Forge and Chester-Delaware County Dental Association. I am also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry where I am currently pursuing a fellowship.
These experiences enable me to treatment plan and restore complex cases involving esthetics, crown and bridge, implants, endodontics, removable prosthesis and operative dentistry. I am well trained in all aspects of general dentistry including pediatric dentistry, geriatric dentistry, conscious sedation, dentistry for the disabled and the medically compromised. I participate in a vast number of continuing education courses to continually improve as a practitioner.
Our vision at Schwenksville Dental Care is to cultivate and retain satisfied, appreciative and prevention-oriented patients, in an environment that minimizes stress. We strive to be at the leading edge of dentistry by practicing the current evidence-based concepts.
As a way of giving back to the community, I have participated in various voluntary dental camps both locally and overseas in Kenya, in an effort to provide much needed dental care to the less fortunate members of our society. I am a highly motivated person and love to meet and work with people. I reside in Chester County with my wife, Dr. Sweta Shah- Saini, who is a well-known practicing endodontist and my toddler son. I enjoy safari photography, cooking and traveling as well as simply spending time together as a family.
I look forward to welcoming you and your loved ones here at Schwenksville Dental Care.

She was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, which is conferred to the top-ranked graduating dentists.
Dr. Shah-Saini received her certificate in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010 and was awarded the prestigious Louis I. Grossman award for academic and clinical proficiency in Endodontics. She joined Endodontic Associates Ltd. upon graduation. She has authored several scientific publications. She is currently on staff at the Graduate Endodontic Department at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is an assistant clinical professor. She has also taught at the Penn Dental Microscope Training Center where dentists from around the world come to train in microendodontics and microsurgery. She is member of The American

Following Dr. Saini’s departure to focus on Schwenksville Dental Care, Dr. Kim then worked as faculty in the same group that Dr. Saini taught in.
Dr. Kim received her B.S. in Biochemistry at Rice University in Houston, then attended University of Pennsylvania where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine. She completed her oral surgery externships at Princess Marina Hospital in Botswana and Philadelphia VA Medical Center. Helping our patients maintain a healthy mouth and smile is the main goal of general dentistry. We prefer to provide more minor, preventive care than to see patients suffer with more intensive treatments from a problem that was not managed in time. We want to ensure that your oral health is in its optimal state and positively contributing to the health of your entire body. We are here to brighten your smile and pave the way for a brighter life.

Teeth Whitening
A common request we receive is how to make a smile whiter and brighter. This is a relatively simple and quick treatment option that can be performed periodically. Certain foods and beverages, such as wine and coffee, stain the teeth and contribute to discoloration. The teeth whitening process provides a solution that lightens the shade of the teeth. Additionally, the process actually rids the teeth of plaque and tartar that tend to lead to dental problems.
Fillings
Composite fillings act as a dentistry solution for problems such as tooth decay or cracks. A composite filling is a tooth-colored plastic and glass mixture used to restore decayed teeth. This procedure is also utilized for cosmetic improvements of the smile by fixing any discoloration or reshaping any disfigured teeth.
Root Canals
Root canals are needed when decay and bacteria spread for too long without treatment. At a certain point, this decay makes it to the pulp inside the tooth. This pulp includes nerves, therefore infection generally causes a lot of pain. Since this is happening on the inside of the tooth, you won’t necessarily see the damage. Instead, you could feel it through pain and notice other signs that include bleeding, swelling and bad breath.
Extractions
An extraction is performed to remove a tooth, whether because of disease, crowding, or damage. When extractions are required, the area around the tooth will be numbed and your dentist will remove the tooth. A small amount of bleeding is normal, as your mouth will replace the removed tooth root by forming a blood clot in the area.
Oral Cancer Screenings
Nobody wants to hear that they may have oral cancer. Although it can be fatal, it is easier to treat the earlier it is caught. For this reason, we are proud to assist our patients with an oral cancer screening. We want to help our patients survive this often fatal disease.
Oral cancer will typically show up as white or red patches or lesions inside of your mouth. You may even notice the lesions on your tongue or on the floor of your mouth. Many people experience a hard time swallowing, bleeding in the mouth, or even swelling in your face or neck.
Sealants
When we apply a dental sealant, we paint a plastic coating on top of your teeth. This makes your teeth smooth getting rid of the rough edges, depressions, and grooves that are commonly found on teeth. It is essentially a protective coating against tooth decay and cavities.
The most common place to paint sealants is on back teeth since they are often irregular. They can also be very hard to reach, even if you brush your teeth regularly. We use it more on children though we do perform sealants on adults too!
A beautiful smile is one of the most sought after cosmetic features in the world. People from all backgrounds and professions want a bright, straight smile, and we are here to help turn that desire into reality. Whether through minor adjustments or major treatment plans, our cosmetic dentistry practice aims to improve your smile and help you build confidence in the way your teeth look.

Bonding
Veneers
Porcelain Veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length. We recommend this treatment to anyone experiencing discoloration that cannot be fixed with whitening or if your teeth are damaged. Porcelain veneers are also an option if you’re unhappy with the shape or look of your natural teeth.
Dentures
If you are missing teeth, dentures can provide a positive solution to improving your oral health. We are proud to provide dentures that are designed to fit your mouth for proper function and unique comfort. Following your appointment, we will provide you with information on at-home care for your dentures. We strongly recommend scheduling follow up appointments for periodic denture cleanings.
Porcelain Crowns
Getting porcelain crowns is the best way to have a very natural looking smile. They are used when simply filling in a tooth is not an option. There are times when they decay is so bad that we just have to use a porcelain crown. We also use them with severely damaged teeth or teeth that have already had multiple fillings. Porcelain crowns are attached right to your teeth so that they can function, even when you bite something really hard! There are several types of porcelain crowns so it is important to discuss which type is best for you with your dentist.
Invisalign/SureSmile
Invisalign/SureSmile is a modern alternative to straighten your teeth without wires or metal. Invisalign/SureSmile involves a series of custom trays designed specifically for you and the plan your dentist or orthodontist creates to move your teeth. The trays are made from a smooth plastic that covers your teeth and gradually moves them into place.
Bonding
Dental bonding is the procedure where we apply a tooth colored plastic material to a patient’s tooth. Using a special light, the material hardens and bonds the material to the tooth.
Dental bonding is used to improve a patient’s smile. It can be used on cracked and decaying teeth. It also can be used for cavities. It can be used to change the shape and size of your teeth so you have a more uniform smile! It is also commonly used for receding gums by protecting the exposed teeth!
Schwenksville Dental Care is committed to offering a full range of dentistry services. Whether you’ve had repairs or need a complete replacement, we recommend continual check-ups to assess your gums and bone density to assess the surrounding areas associated with your implant.
Bridges
Bridges
When your teeth are missing, it greatly affects your smile. At the same time, the missing tooth has the potential to negatively affect your oral hygiene because of unprotected gum exposure. Dental bridges are one of many options aimed at improving the appearance and function of your teeth by replacing the missing tooth or teeth. During your exam, we will discuss whether or not dental bridges are right for you.
Schwenksville Dental Care is excited to serve our patients. Our ultimate goal is to craft you a perfect smile that you are proud to show off. After your first examination and completion of X-rays, we will be happy to discuss all of your options. We are proud to offer several different treatment options for straighter teeth and a beautiful smile. We understand the importance of showing you all of our options and discussing them thoroughly with you. We want you to find the best treatment option for you, no matter what you choose.
We are proud to offer the following services to achieve the smile of your dreams:
Invisalign/SureSmile
Invisalign/SureSmile
Invisalign/SureSmile is a wonderful, modern alternative treatment to braces. You can straighten your teeth without installing metal in your mouth. Instead, we use plastic trays (also known as aligners) to move your teeth back into place. Each aligner is custom made to fit your mouth so you don’t have to worry about mouth irritation or anything else that traditional braces can cause.
Since the aligners are removable, they are easier to keep clean. You can also continue to brush and floss your teeth without trying to avoid harming your braces. Invisalign/SureSmile is also popular because the aligners are clear, so most people don’t even know you are wearing anything unless you tell them.
Periodontics is a specialized branch of dentistry that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease as well as the process of replacing teeth with dental implants. Periodontists receive up to three years of additional, specialized training in treating periodontal disease and other conditions.
Periodontists are also specialists in treating oral inflammation and any condition requiring either non-surgical treatment or oral plastic surgery. Oftentimes, periodontists are treating conditions caused by periodontal disease and its effects such as persistent bad breath or gum recession.
Scaling & Root Planing
Scaling & Root Planing
Scaling and root planing are a more in-depth, thorough cleaning treatment recommended for patients who may be suffering from periodontal disease. Also known as gum disease, this type of gum infection is caused by bacteria and plaque forming on your teeth over time and causing inflammation. While serious, periodontal disease is treatable. However, it can lead to bone or tooth loss if not treated quickly.
We are proud to offer dental implants for our patients. Dental implants are roots placed in your mouth for either permanent teeth to be placed on or ones that you can remove.
Dental implants are done to improve a patient’s smile and usually their self esteem. Having missing or bad teeth can be quite embarrassing. Dental implants also can be done to improve oral health. Many people find it easier to eat with dental implants. Their speech can also be improved. Dental implants are also more comfortable because they are made to become permanent.
When done correctly, and with proper care, dental implants can last a patient’s whole life. It is still important to brush your teeth, floss, and use mouthwash when you have implants. Patients still need routine dental checkups to keep their implants healthy.
